San Jose de Tumacacori

Located south of Tucson, Arizona, this mission was founded in 1691 by Father Kino. The present church was begun around 1800 but never completed. Its graceful dome and weathered adobe walls stand as a testament to the ambitions of the Spanish colonial missionaries in the Sonoran Desert.
