San Estaban del Rey

The mission church of San Esteban del Rey at Acoma Pueblo, built atop a sheer-walled mesa in western New Mexico, is one of the most remarkable churches in the Americas. Completed around 1640, its massive adobe walls and vigas were carried up the steep mesa by the Acoma people.
